Kate has worked widely in schools and in private clinics. She specializes in working with anxiety and trauma related issues.
She provides psychotherapy to children and youth experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties. She also provides parenting training and sees adults experiencing common mood problems (e.g. depression, anxiety, stress management etc.).
Kate Li Psychology is situated in Avondale Heights, providing easy access to psychological services for residents of the western suburbs in Melbourne, as well as the City of Moonee Valley, Maribyrnong and Brimbank.
Kate completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at the Australian National University in 2011 and obtained a Masters in Clinical Psychology at the University of Canberra in 2013. Kate has completed a further 2 years of fulltime supervised clinical practice to qualify as a clinical psychologist. Kate treats most common mood disorders and behavioural issues.
Kate has training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. She is a qualified facilitator for Tuning into Kids parenting program, CoolKids Anxiety program, and ILLY respectful relationship training for children and adolescents.
Kate is passionate about the treatment of anxiety and trauma related disorders, ranging from emerging anxiety problems, bullying issues, to early childhood trauma. She believes in early interventions. While Kate specializes in working with children and families, she also sees adult clients who are going through difficult life transitions.
Kate has worked extensively in the community and in the private sector. She has been providing psychotherapy in schools and private clinics for the past 4 years. She has conducted multiple seminars and parenting workshops in schools. She also provided group therapy sessions through organizations such as CatholicCare, CanTeen, and Relationship Australia.
A fee of $175 applies for a standard 50-minute session. A rebate of $124.5 is available through Medicare and can be processed at the clinic for eligible patients with a valid mental health care plan and referral from your doctor.
